Mercury appoints 4 members of staff as business booms and Mercury Photos division launches

We have appointed four new members of staff, as well as announcing an exciting new venture.

We have bolstered our creative team following a number of significant contract wins to ensure we continue to service our growing portfolio of clients to a high standard.

The growth in staff levels also comes at the same time as Mercury launching a new division to its business, Mercury Photos (www.mercury-photos.co.uk), a commercial and lifestyle photography service, which is currently seeing a £30,000 purpose-built studio being built at Mercury's premises.

Photographer Nick Freeman, graphic designer Tim Wilson, web designer Rowan Paris and marketing executive Lucy Harris have all been appointed ahead of our ambitious plans to open a state-of-the-art studio in September.

Mercury has also recently won several large contracts in the energy, aviation, logistics and transport and industrial sectors. Our headquarters were moved to Marfleet Lane, located near Hull's thriving ports, last year in a bid to ensure the team was at the centre of the region's proposed renewables hub, which is estimating the creation of around 10,000 new jobs over the next five to 10 years. The move is already paying real dividends.

Kelly Taylor, director, is delighted that the launch of Mercury Photos has enabled the business to bring all photography and imaging work in-house, making the design process more efficient and cost effective for clients. She is eagerly anticipating the completion of the photography studio, which will not only be open to commercial clients but also available for the general public to book lifestyle sessions.

She said: "There are some very exciting times ahead at Mercury. We are making a significant investment into the new photography studio, as we can see real potential in this new division of the business. All four new team members join Mercury from varying backgrounds to enrich our already very well-respected PR, design, digital and print services.

"We are delighted to welcome Nick, Tim, Rowan and Lucy to the team and I am excited about the additional level of skill, creativity and professionalism they will add to our offering. These new appointments will enable us to continue to expand the business and the services we offer so that we can continue to make the difference that our clients want, need and, quite rightly, expect."

Nick said: "In the last five years, I have developed a wealth of top-level experience as a professional photographer working for a wide range of clients ranging from national organisations to local, smaller, clients. I will be responsible for running the photography side of the business which will include both commercial and lifestyle photography."

Tim Wilson, who has been appointed senior designer, previously worked as head of design for a software company, where he designed user interfaces and had a wide range of experience in working creatively with worldwide brands and products. "I have learned a huge amount from my previous experiences in design, but I am now really looking forward to working with a highly creative design and marketing agency where I feel I can further develop my skills in an energetic and innovative team environment," he said.

Rowan Paris, who is originally from Colchester and studied multi-media at Teesside University in Middlesbrough, will focus on website design, tailor-made for the individual needs of our current and prospective clients. "It is exciting to be part of a team that values new media and pushes the boundaries of web design, I am thoroughly enjoying my role already," added Rowan.
